Clubs and Extra-Curricular Activities
Clubs and extracurricular activities should be an important part in the total development of each individual student. Students are encouraged to participate in athletics, clubs, intramural, class activities and other special events sponsored and approved by IQA. The list of activities will be announced upon availability and subject to change due to interest, funds and availability of sponsors.
Student Council
The purpose of the Student Council is to help students develop leadership skills as they commit to leading projects and activities within the school. The council’s role is to represent the student body as a whole and is composed of officers and class representatives elected from within the student body. The council works under the guidance and supervision of staff advisors. All activities are subject to approval by the principal.
The goals of the student council at IQA are:
- To develop leadership skills
- To provide students an opportunity for contribute to their school and community
- To implement fun activities for the student body
- To increase morale and school spirit and pride among students
- To raise funds for student-centered activities through snack sales
Sports
Our sports program offers a wide range of activities that cater to various interests and skill levels. We have teams for basketball, soccer, volleyball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, and Ping-Pong. Our program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Yearbook
Yearbook club is a student-run organization that is responsible for creating and producing the school yearbook. Members of the yearbook club work together to design the layout of the yearbook, select and edit photos, and write copy for each section.
The yearbook is a commemorative publication that documents the events and activities that take place during the school year. It typically includes photos of students, faculty, and staff, as well as coverage of sports events, club activities, and other school events.
Being part of the yearbook club offers students the opportunity to develop their writing and photography skills, as well as their creativity and teamwork abilities. It can also be a great way to get involved in school life and meet new people.
PSIA
The Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA) is an organization that promotes academic and literary competition among private schools in Texas. PSIA offers a wide variety of events and competitions for students in grades 1-8, covering subjects such as math, science, social studies, and language arts.
PSIA competitions are designed to challenge students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, while also fostering teamwork and good sportsmanship. The competitions are held throughout the school year, culminating in the state championship event in the spring.
Participation in PSIA can provide students with opportunities for personal growth, academic achievement, and recognition. The organization also aims to promote a sense of community and camaraderie among private schools throughout Texas.
Young Khateeb Club
IQA’s mission is to develop the next generation of American Muslim Scholars through integrated training through guidance, service, and leadership.The Young Khateeb Club provides a platform for young Muslims to develop their Islamic knowledge and character.
The Khateeb club focuses on teaching future khateebs how to search for Arabic references analyze them in order to deliver an effective khutbah. This process can enhance their understanding of Islamic teachings and values, as well as their critical thinking and research skills. Additionally, extensive training of Arabic speech with the help of local imams and respected school shuyukh can help students develop their Arabic language skills, which is crucial for delivering a khutbah effectively.
By training students to deliver a khutbah, the club can help young Muslims develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility towards their community.
